What is the
Open Water Course?
The PADI Open Water Diver Course is the world’s most recognized scuba certification and the first step into a lifetime of diving adventures. Once certified, you’ll be qualified to dive with a buddy to a maximum depth of 18 metres and join dive trips almost anywhere in the world.
At Temple Dive Center, we combine professional instruction, small groups and the exceptional marine environment of Nusa Penida to help you become a confident diver from day one.
No previous diving experience is required.

Your training begins before you even land in Nusa Penida.
The theory portion is completed through independent study, allowing you to work through the academic material at home days or even weeks before arriving in Nusa Penida. This gives you greater flexibility during your holiday and allows us to spend more time on the practical side of diving once you’re here.
Your instructor will review the key concepts with you and answer any questions before moving on to the in-water training.
PADI eLearning is available in over 30 languages, so you can complete your theory in your own language, at your own pace, from anywhere in the world.

Before heading into the ocean, you’ll spend time practising essential diving skills in a controlled environment. Your instructor will review the key concepts from your eLearning and answer any questions before moving on.

The final stage takes place in the ocean apply everything you’ve learned.
The final stage of the course takes place in the ocean. Across four training dives, you’ll apply everything you’ve learned while exploring reefs, improving your buoyancy and gaining real diving experience under the supervision of your instructor.
For many students, these dives become one of the highlights of their time in Bali.

You leave Day 3 a certified PADI diver ready to dive anywhere in the world.
Across four training dives spread over Days 2 and 3, you’ll apply everything you’ve learned. For many students, these dives become one of the highlights of their time in Bali.
You leave Nusa Penida a certified PADI Open Water Diver qualified to dive worldwide to 18 metres.
What is

The course is open to anyone aged 10 and above. You don’t need previous experience. You don’t need to be an athlete.
